Sometimes it feels like Christmas shopping is a necessity. Showing up to your relatives house with no gifts to give is seen as mean, or at least stingy. Why do we buy presents on Christmas? Where did the tradition come from? Often it can blind us to the real meaning.
Jesus was born to a poor peasant family. He would grow up only to leave his house and live on the streets, calling people to become poor as he was poor in order to find god. Hmm...
